Vegas Golden Knights forwards Mitch Marner and Brett Howden have moved to the top of the NHL playoff goal-scoring race, joining Logan Stankoven, Matthew Boldy, and Brandon Hagel with six goals each.

Marner, 29, recorded a natural hat trick (three consecutive goals) in the third game of the second-round Stanley Cup series against the Anaheim Ducks, a 6-2 victory that gave Vegas a 2-1 series lead. Howden, 28, added an empty-net goal. Both now have six goals in nine playoff games this year.

They tied the previous leaders: Carolina’s Logan Stankoven (six goals in seven games), Minnesota’s Matthew Boldy (six in eight), and Brandon Hagel of Tampa Bay (six in seven, though the Lightning have been eliminated from the playoffs).
