Fluminense’s new signing Hulk started his training work at the CT Carlos Castilho on Tuesday, undergoing initial physical assessments and a light run on the pitch alongside former teammate Igor Rabello.
The striker arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Monday morning and immediately visited the club’s training complex to meet his new teammates and discuss plans with coach Luis Zubeldía. On Tuesday, he completed physiological evaluations, gym exercises, and a session on the field.
Fluminense expects Hulk to join full team training from Wednesday. After his first look at the facilities, the forward praised the structure and revealed he had a positive conversation with Zubeldía. “The facilities are excellent, we’ll be able to make good use of them. The chat with Zubeldía was very good. I’ve spoken with him before, and we talked a bit about the team. I’m eager to get on the field, help out, and wear the Fluminense shirt to win important titles,” he said.
Club performance coordinator Juliano Spineti outlined the initial plan for the player. “At this moment, the idea is to get a baseline assessment of his strength, function, and injury history. We conducted a global check-up, biochemical tests, movement evaluation, and strength analysis. From there, we’ll design a specific training plan if any corrections are needed.”
Hulk signed a permanent contract with Fluminense until December 2027 but can only officially play from the opening of the next transfer window in July. The team’s next match is on July 22 against Red Bull Bragantino at Maracanã, and Hulk would need his name registered in the CBF’s BID system by July 21 to be eligible. The club is considering turning that game into a celebration for the striker, with possible fan activations. If registration misses the deadline, his debut could be postponed to July 26 against Grêmio away.
Hulk’s first appearance in front of Fluminense supporters will take place this Saturday, before the Brazilian league match against São Paulo at Maracanã.
